欣賞Brad Kunkle的作品，總是不由得聯想起前拉菲爾畫派的John Everett Millai那幅奧菲莉亞。

相對於手持鮮花的奧菲莉亞，Brad筆下漂浮在金色落葉中的少女，更有種空靈、強烈的對比。Brad 自述，用繪畫串聯部分人性，剝離真實、不停地變化的美麗與晦暗，說是浪漫還不如說更接近真實。這種在幽暗中追求美的傾向，和谷崎潤一郎《陰翳禮讚》中的美感不謀而合。

Brad Kunkle作畫過程先將底部貼上22k金(銀)箔，再飾以油彩，降低整體彩度。

在新系列lLight&Leaf中，則是運用金銀底色與明暗，巧妙地改變視覺主體。
